Equipment and Wet Lab Renovations
This project involved the complete re-design and renovation of newly
repurposed lab space to suit the equipment and activities to be carried out.
Some of the features of this project included;
- design of lab space including placement of all infrastructure necessary to
support both equipment and lab activities
- selection, and installation of all furniture, fixtures and work surfaces
- design, fabrication, and installation of open frame benchwork
- initial setup of equipment
In-line Condenser for Vacuum Pump Exhaust Lines
This water cooled condenser was designed to significantly reduce the
migration of vacuum pump oils contained in their exhaust, to downstream
locations where they inevitably pool and leak.
Some of the design features include;
- water cooled condenser, can also be provided with solid state cooling
option where house cooling loops are not available
- internal aluminum heat sink as well as copper external construction
- drain valve for removing accumulated oils
High Purity Gas Distribution System
This project involved the design, fitting, and installation of a high purity gas
system to support up to 8 GC(gas chromatographs) in a lab application.
Some of the design features include;
- live change-over system for high demand gasses such as He, allows for the
connection of two tanks at once, and for the replacement, bleeding, and
introduction of a new tank without interrupting gas flow to equipment
- integrated supports and connections for in-line gas purifiers
- use of braided flexible connections at cylinders to avoid kinking of lines
Custom Heavy-Duty Equipment Benches
This project involved the design, fabrication, and installation of a multiple
pieces of custom bench work to address equipment and space requirements.
Some of the design features include;
- heavy-duty 1/8” square tube construction
- provision of custom modular drawer units to fit equipment accessories
- heavy-duty vibration dampening, adjustable leveling feet(non slip!)
- phenolic resin work surfaces, fantastic chemical and heat resistance
- include hole for optional UPS hangers
