Integration of Solvent Purification System with Glovebox
This project addressed connecting the solvent purification system to the
glovebox as to allow for the dispensing of solvents within the glovebox.
Some of the features of this project include;
- design, fitting, and installation of the 1/4” stainless tubing and valving
system connecting the solvent purification system and glovebox,
including the use of flexible stainless lines to allow for some mobility of
glovebox for service and repair
- design and installation of dispensing station within the glovebox
Design & Renovation of Mass Spec Facility
This renovation project consisted of the complete redesign & renovation of
the Mass Spec Facility at UW to accommodate the updating of equipment.
Some of the features of this project include;
- complete redesign of facility, considering new equipment requirements
- specification of support components such as transformers, UPS units, etc.
- design, fabrication, and installation, of high purity gas delivery system
- design and fabrication of custom heavy-duty equipment benches,
including integrated UPS hangers and pump shelves
MCD Apparatus(Magnetic Circular Dichroism Spectroscopy)
This apparatus was custom designed and fabricated to meet all of the
requirements for the installation and operation of the MCD setup.
Some of the design features include;
- complete non-ferrous material construction, consisting of stainless steel
frame, phenolic resin panels, and aluminum and stainless hardware
- indexing gantry for positioning of MCD unit with associated optics
- retractable connection between MCD apparatus and associated
spectrometer to allow for independent use
Vented Biological Growth Chamber
This growth chamber was initially designed to support the culturing of
algae within specific light parameters in the laboratory environment.
Some of the design features include;
- heavy duty square tube frame and sheet metal construction, with
magnetic removable PVC front panels, on locking casters
- two stage, high out put mini-fluorescent light banks
- GFI receptacles on lower shelves to accommodate needed equipment
- ventilation connection and internal baffles to ensure effective air flow
