Black Gold - Heat Transfer Media Is a granular media intended to replace the use of sand and conventional heat transfer oils in the laboratory environment. With a safe operating temperature of as much as 1000 deg C, Black Gold provides superior heat transfer rates at temperatures not imaginable with conventional oil alternatives. Black Gold - Heat Transfer Media is an inert metallic material which is infinitely reusable, just rinse and dry should spillage occur in the media. Since it is a stable solid with no volatile by-products, Black Gold is as safe to be used on the bench top as it is in a fume hood, given that the hazards of the work being performed are properly considered**. Similarly, each batch of Black Gold - Heat Transfer Media is washed and dried prior to packaging to ensure not only a clean and consistent granule range, but also to be free of any fine pariculate which may become airborne.
